Diaries I Read: |
I got my first taste of traveling after graduating from college when my friend Erinn and I backpacked through Europe for two months. We went to England, Ireland, France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, and Spain. My absolute favorite place in the world is Barcelona, Spain sitting on the bench at Parc Guell, to be more precise.
During grad school I went back to Europe by myself, which was quite a big deal and studied French for a month in Paris and Spanish for a month in Sevilla, Spain. I got to do some traveling throughout France, Spain, and a little bit of Switzerland that time. Its an amazing feeling to simply wander throughout a foreign town halfway across the world, not knowing a soul. One of the most terrifyingly exciting feelings is getting off the plane or train or bus in a new, foreign city and having no choice but to figure out where you are and where youre going and just go. Traveling alone, I gained a lot of independence and confidence. Someday, B and I really want to see Europe together. Id also like to go to Australia. Weve seen a lot of the U.S., but Id love to see all 50 states.
